The divergent staples design permits the staple legs to turn outward front to back of the crown when the staple legs come into contact with any hard surface. Most common use for Fasco 92 Series Divergent Point Staples, for example, is sales to aluminum awning manufactures. These staples are driven through the material stretched over the aluminum frame with the staple going through the material and frame. In doing so as the staple hits the frame material, the staple legs flare out locking the fabric to the frame. The other common application is for installing insulation material wrapped around mostly commercial heat ducts. Insulation is typically installed to the inside of the ducts during mfg with an additional wrap on the outside after installation.
