HOW TO CHOOSE CARTON STAPLES

The staple - a product that meets strict demands

To cope with the uncompromising requirements of wire diameter, measurements, tolerances, angles, bend radii, leg sharpening and gluing, advanced equipment and skilled personnel are essential. Our staple manufacturers have these people. To further ensure quality, only the finest wire is used.

Staple types

The staple types that are most often used for lid and bottom closing are 561/C type and 53/F type respectively.
For stapling with pliers types 777, 779 or 590 are used. All these staple types are available with differing leg lengths to ensure that they are perfectly suited to the board thickness employed.

Staples a pure natural product

Every country demands that packaging should be capable of trouble-free recycling. It is of course an advantage if all the material used in the packaging can be recycled.

Those using staples for closing don't only get a strong and robust carton at a low closing cost. They can also be sure that stapling meets environmental requirements. The staples are easily disposed of in paper mills and can be melted down for recycling.

Staples will not harm the contents

Staples won't cause any damage to either the box materials or its contents.
Figure 1 shows how a 561 - 15/C58 staple in normal corrugated boards joins the two layers without passing through the lower layer.
Figure 2 shows how an extra thick board is compressed when closing with a 561-18/C34.

The JK 561 wide crown carton staple is used in both bottom and top staplers. The 22 mm is intended for 3-layer corrugated fibre board.

The 53 narrow crown staple, made of broad flat wire, is used for stapling both corrugated and corrugated fibre board. The 6 mm leg length is suitable for materials as fine-grained and solid board. The 9 mm length is best for normal single-layer, and the 12 or 15 mm for double-layer boards.

This is how to staple a box lid and bottom

The illustration below show how to staple the bottom with 53/F type and the top with 561/C type carton staples.

The number of carton closing staples required in each case depends on several factors, such as the board quality, contents, staple type etc.
